Hearing Loss and Children

A lot can be done to help children with hearing loss.  The key is to get an early diagnosis and the earliest intervention possible.  Should a loss be discovered, early intervention helps to ensure that a child develops strong speech and language skills without any unnecessary developmental delays.  It also helps give a child the best chance for strong academic achievement and positive social and emotional development.  Parents are usually the first to suspect a hearing loss, so they should be sure to talk to the pediatrician and take their child for a professional hearing evaluation.  Treatment can be an important tool for helping a child enjoy and active and fulfilling life.  At Ken-Ton Hearing we perform diagnostic testing for children 3 yrs old and up.  We would be honored to help.
